Defending the Amazon

Any plan to stabilize the global climate and limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius operates with the assumption that the Amazon remains intact. That assumption, however, has been brought into serious question by the rapid environmental deregulation of the Bolsonaro administration as well as rampant illegal deforestation of the Amazon rainforest, which has brought this vital ecosystem close to collapse. In recognition of this reality, CLX works to advance urgent litigation and legal actions in the Amazon region, especially Brazil, to stem deforestation and hold governments and corporations accountable for it.
